Road rage case: 'Angry' woman sent to judicial custody

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh district court send a woman to judicial custody for attacking a man with an iron rod in full public view in Industrial Area, Phase I, on Wednesday. She was produced in court of duty magistrate from where she was sent to judicial custody. The assault was also caught on camera, which later went viral on social media. Sheetal Sharma, a resident of Mohali, was arrested for the attack on Nitish Kumar of Sector 29. Kumar said he was going with his family towards Elante Mall in a car.
The woman was reversing her car, when it collided with the man's car. When he objected, the woman started arguing with him, Kumar alleged. A heated exchange ensued. The woman then took out an iron rod from her car and started thrashing Kumar. Cops from Industrial Area, Phase I, brought Kumar and Sheetal to the police station. Police recorded the statements of Nitish and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrested the woman.
