The process of finalising engineering fee is likely to pick up pace with the State government appointing former High Court judge P. Swaroop Reddy as the Chairman of Telangana Admission and Fee Regulation Committee (TAFRC).
The committee would have nine members and a member secretary as per the order issued on Thursday. The other members include Manzoor Hussain, professor of mechanical engineering at JNTUH, and he would be the academic expert on technical education, while Vimala Thomas, professor at Gandhi Hospital, would be a member and the academic expert on medical education.
G.V. Laxman Rao, a chartered accountant, would be the finance expert and a member, while K. Ravinder Reddy, an advocate, would be a member and a legal expert. Vice-Chancellors of JNTU-Hyderabad and Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University, Warangal, and Osmania University Vice-Chancellor would be the members for engineering, medical and B.Ed courses respectively.
The Chairman of TSCHE, a representative from the Finance Department, one representative from AICTE, MCI or NCTE, would also be the members. A special invitee as decided by the TAFRC Chairman would also be a member. The Principal Secretary or Secretary representing Education, Health or Medical Department would be the Member-Secretary.
