VADODARA: City police commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut has put a ban on flying any drone, paraglider or remote-controlled microlight aircraft till August 19 in the city. The step has been taken ahead of the festive season to ensure safety and security of the city and revellers. The police has issued a slew of other notifications as well.
The police have asked owners of the drones and microlight aircrafts to register themselves with the police. The notification will be renewed further too. Gahlaut has also put a ban on any rally or gathering of four or more persons in any area. The police have asked all the guesthouses, hotels, shops and petrol pumps to install CCTVs in their premises and keep the recordings for at least 30 days.
"Many trouble-mongers try to fuel tensions in the city during the festive season. The communally sensitive areas are more prone to rumour mongering as well as clashes. So a ban has been put on rallies and we are also keeping a check on hotels and guesthouses to keep an eye on the guests," the police said.

The guesthouses and hotels have been asked to inform the police whenever they have any foreign guests. The police itself has installed CCTVs across the city as a security measure ahead of the festive season.
"The city witnesses communal trouble during the festive season. So, we are also keeping an eye on the history-sheeters who may fuel trouble," the police said.
