Veteran Yeye ends SuperSport stay but NOT retiring

2019-06-26 08:16

Cape Town - Veteran midfielder Reneilwe 'Yeye' Letsholonyane has confirmed that he will leave SuperSport United at the end of June when his contract expires.

The former Bafana Bafana international spent three seasons at the Tshwane club, scoring four goals and reaching four domestic cup finals.

Yeye started his professional career at Hellenic FC in 2002 before joining Dangerous Darkies and PJ Stars.

But it was during his two-year spell at Jomo Cosmos where Absa Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs saw the then gifted 25-year-old back in 2008 to lure him to Soweto.

Yeye spent eight years at Naturena winning multiple trophies before departing to start a fresh journey with SuperSport.

While many believe he is past his sell-by-date, the 37-year-old proudly announced his departure insisting that he refuses to hang up his boots.

"All things come to an end right?? It has been a good time with the club: 3 Seasons, 88 Games plus Cup Games, 10 Caf Games, 4 Domestic Cup Finals, 1 Caf Final, 1 missed training session in 3 years, 4 Goals, Thanks4TheOpportunity, Mission accomplished. AND OH, AM NOT RETIRING," he wrote in a Twitter post on his official account.
