NEW DELHI: Raising the acute water crisis in Chennai in
Lok Sabha on Tuesday, DMK member
Dayanidhi Maran blamed the state and central governments for pushing the city to such a situation and said the ruling AIADMK was running the “most corrupt” government in
Tamil Nadu and its leaders were “slaves” of BJP — a remark which was strongly opposed by members of the treasury benches.
Taking on BJP whose members objected to his remarks against ally AIADMK and the state government, the senior DMK leader asked the saffron party to “introspect” why people of Tamil
Nadu rejected it during the recent Lok Sabha elections.
“If Tamil Nadu has not voted for you, please introspect and understand why they have not voted for you. The reason is very simple and that is the water crisis,” Maran said amid interruptions from BJP members.
