FALL RIVER — State Rep. Carole Fiola visited both Morton Middle School and Talbot Innovation School to recognize educators for their leadership in the Generation Citizen Action Civics Projects.

Through student-driven projects, youth learn how to effect policy change by engaging with local government and leaders to solve community problems. The students received an effective, action-oriented civics education that promotes long-term civic engagement and builds collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills that students will need throughout their lives.

Educators recognized from Morton Middle School were Chris Blanchette, Doreen Carberry and Meghan Jenness. Educators recognized from Talbot Innovation School were Mario Marena and Stephen Siclari.
