The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has extended the tenure of Niti Aayog’s Chief Executive Officer, Amitabh Kant by another two years.
Kant’s term was due to end on June 30, 2019. Now his term will lapse on June 30, 2021.
A Kerala-cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1980 batch, his last posting before taking charge as the Niti Aayog CEO was the Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
