Allahabad: Former BJP MLA's daughter-in-law found hanging

ALLAHABAD: The body of a 24-year-old woman was found hanging from a ceiling at her house under mysterious circumstances in Teliyarganj locality under the limits of Shivkuti police station in UP's Allahabad on Wednesday morning.
The deceased, identified as Priyanka Patel, was the daughter-in-law (bahu) of a former BJP MLA from Soraon late Rang Bahadur Patel.
Inspector (Shivkuti) Umesh Kumar Singh told TOI, “Police have sent the body for post-mortem."
The father of the victim, Ram Dulare Patel, has lodged an FIR under sections 498 A, and 304 B of the IPC and 3\4 of the Dowry Act against three persons including Anurag Patel (husband) and two others alleging that they had killed his daughter over Rs 5 lakh-dowry demand.
Inspector Singh, meanwhile, said, “Forensic experts were called in to compile evidences." He said, “On being alerted by the family members who spotted the victim hanging from the ceiling, senior police officials rushed to the spot and carried out investigations."

Police said Priyanka got married to Anurag Patel, on May 5, 2018, who was currently pursuing his studies at Lucknow.
Police said, “Anurag told police that he, along with Priyankar, had gone to sleep on Tuesday night to their room but he did not find her on bed when woke up on Wednesday morning." The husband also told police that he found his wife hanging from another room.
