- Residents should make the most of the sun, with rain expected on the weekend
After shivering through last week's cold snap, Australians on the lower east coast are set for some relief, with warm weather and tops of 23C forecast for some regions.
But residents in NSW and Victoria should make the most of the pleasant weather, with rain expected by the weekend.
A Bureau of Meteorology spokesman told Daily Mail Australia the mercury in NSW and Victoria will be between four and six degrees above the June average.
'A cold front moving across Western Australia gradually pushing east will cause the weekend's cold weather,' he said.
'Ahead of that thought we're seeing warmer northerly winds moving over the system, causing warmer than average temperatures in the east.'

The sun will come out on Saturday in Sydney, with tops of 21C forecast, before cooling back down slightly to 18C on Sunday
Bourke, in NSW's central north, will reach 22C on Thursday and Friday - six degrees above the June average.
Broken Hill residents will be treated to 21C on Thursday and Friday, which is five degrees higher than the average this time of year.
Cobar in the state's central west will have some frost relief with 20C on Thursday and 21C on Friday - four degrees above average.

The BOM spokesman said Victoria won't be quite as warm as NSW, but will still experience temperatures around four degrees above average.
Horsham in the state's central west can expect to see temperatures of 17C on Thursday and 18C on Friday.
Mildura, on the NSW and Victorian border, will get up to 21C on Friday, while Melbourne will only reach 18C, with lows of between 11 and 13C.

Further south, Hobart residents will experience slightly warmer weather with tops of 17C on Friday - before dropping back down to 10C for a wintry Saturday morning.
But Aussies on the east coast should enjoy the sunshine while it lasts, with wet weather on its way for the weekend.
Launceston will see as much as 40mm of rain, and 65mm in Burnie continuing until Monday - with similar conditions hitting Victoria and South Australia.
Melbourne locals shouldn't pack away their umbrellas for good, with up to 15mm expected to fall on Saturday, and 25mm in Bendigo and 40mm in Falls Creek.

Launceston will see as much as 40mm of rain, and 65mm in Burnie continuing until Monday - with similar conditions hitting Victoria and South Australia
But due to the warm weather at the end of the week, not much of the rain will turn to snow in these areas.
Adelaide will also be in for a wet start to the weekend, with up to 10mm of rain expected.
Locals in the nation's capital will be shivering through lows of just 1-2C, with possible showers.
Sydneysiders won't be as lucky as the rest of the state, with a shower or two forecast for Thursday before clearing up on Friday.
