Man raping dog: Rs 1 lakh reward announced for identifying culprit

CHENNAI: Recently, a video of a dog being raped by a man was circulated widely on WhatsApp and Facebook. Now, Humane Society International (HSI)/India has announced a reward of Rs 100,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the man seen sexually assaulting the animal.
Recorded by unknown persons, the video shows a helpless dog being forcefully held by a man. The dog is heard squealing in the first part of the video and later seen held up by its tail while being subject to bestiality. It attempts to free itself numerous times in vain.
The location of the crime and the identity of the person committing the crime are unknown. A complaint has been filed with the cybercrime cell, seeking investigation into the matter and strict action.

“The pain and fear that this dog must have endured is hard to imagine. Violent people often start by abusing animals and then move on to targeting human victims. So this case should worry everyone. We are hopeful that this reward will urge anyone with information about this heinous crime to step forward and talk to us,” said N G Jayasimha, managing director, HSI/India.
Anyone with information about the offender is urged to call the Humane Society International/India tip line +91 7674922044.
