THANE: In two separate incidents, two state MLAs were robbed of cash and valuables by unidentified persons when they were aboard different trains between Kalyan and Thane railway stations on Monday.
On Monday morning Congress MLA Rahul Bondre and Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Raimulkar were on their way to attend the ongoing monsoon session. While Bondre was on the Vidarbha Express, Raimulkar was on Devagiri Express.

According to Bondre's complaint, when the train halted at Kalyan, a person entered the AC coach reserved for MLAs and fled with a purse containing Rs 51,000 and an ATM card, and a file containing important documents. Bondre said he tried to chase the suspect who then alighted from train. In the second incident, Raimulkar was on-board the train somewhere between Kalyan and Thane. When he woke up at 6.20am, his cell phone, Rs 10,000 cash and his identity card were missing, said a GRP official.
The CST GRP lodged separate FIRs and transferred Bondre's case to Kalyan GRP and Raimulkar's to Thane GRP. The Kalyan GRP claimed to have CCTV footage of the suspect and launched a manhunt.
