Key Events
Naby Keita backed to start for Guinea
Having made his injury return as a substitute for Guinea in their opening Africa Cup of Nations game, Naby Keita has been tipped to start their second game against Nigeria.

The Liverpool midfielder played the last 30 minutes against Madagascar having been sidelined since early-May, and Guinea boss Paul Put has told reporters Keita is fit to start.
You know he had an injury. It was not obvious he participated in the AFCON . We did everything to prepare Naby well.
He trains at 200%. I think he is physically ready. If he is mentally ready, I think he will start the game.
Because there is a Syli with Naby Keita and a Syli without him, that we saw during the preparation when Guinea lost all three games without him.
David Silva to leave Man City in 2020
What a player he’s been for Manchester City. Shame Rafa was never successful in bringing him to Anfield.
Does highlight further how well-placed Liverpool are and why they don’t need a busy summer.

Vincent Kompany has left, it’s David Silva’s last year while Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero are the wrong side of 30.
All four were first-choice for City last year.
In contrast, Liverpool only have four players who were born before 1990 (Mignolet, Lovren, Milner, Lallana) and none of them are guaranteed starters.

Sepp van den Berg set for medical
Sepp van den Berg is set to undergo a medical with Liverpool today ahead of a £1.79million move reports the Telegraph.

Bayern Munich and Ajax both were in the hunt for the PEC Zwolle centre-back but the Reds appear to have won the race for the 17-year-old, who is said to have preferred a move to Anfield.
Liverpool 'turn down chance to sign' Marcos Llorente
Marcos Llorente recently joined Atletico Madrid from Real Madrid, but he could have every easily ended up at Liverpool instead according to his agent.

Julio Llorente told Cadena SER that his client and nephew had been offered to the Reds, but Jurgen Klopp decided against making a move.
I contacted several clubs to let them know what had happened, the conversation that Zidane and Marcos had.
One of them was Liverpool, but Marcos’ position was covered and it wasn’t a priority.
But Atlético are those who perhaps took the strongest step and convinced us. I think we’re right. I hope it’s like that, I hope Marcos does very well.
