Traffic woes discussed with IT forums

GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore on Tuesday conducted a meeting with the representatives of Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA), Nasscom, and Cyberabad Security Council, and discussed with them traffic predicament in view of waterlogging during heavy rain.

Recalling the recent nightmare that the western part of the city had to endure during the recent downpour, Mr.Dana Kishore suggested measures such as staggered release of employees, change in working hours and others, to face such calamities and help reduce traffic jams.

Following suggestions by the attending delegates, Mr.Dana Kishore agreed to organise another meeting in the presence of IT company representatives on June 27, which will also be attended by Cyberabad Police Commissioner, MD, TSIIC, and representatives from other stakeholder organisations, a press release informed.

Meanwhile, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Serilingampally experienced another bout of heavy rain which left many localities waterlogged. According to the data from automatic weather stations, Serilingampally received 8.5 cm rainfall in two hours. GHMC monsoon response teams swung into action, removing silt and plastic and other waste from manholes and catch pits so that the rainwater could be drained faster, the corporation informed.

A total of 28 localities experienced waterlogging, while 15 fallen trees were cleared from the roads. On Tuesday evening, several areas in Alwal and Malkajgiri received considerable rainfall.
