VARANASI: A girl was found dead in mysterious circumstances at a hotel room in Paredkothi area under Sigra police station in
UP's Varanasi on Wednesday afternoon.
The girl was there to meet a boy, who had left the hotel around 10am leaving her. CO Chetganj Ankita Singh said that police were investigating whether she consumed
poison herself or was killed by the boy. As per the address mentioned on their Adhar cards both belonged to
Deoria district.
Police said that one Amish Tiwari had arrived in Varanasi and was staying at a hotel in Paredkothi. On Wednesday morning, Anjali reached the hotel to meet him. After staying with her for sometime Amish left the room. As the TV of the room was on, the hotel staff did not pay serious attention. But, when the house keeping staff came to clear the room at around 3pm, they saw her body and reported the matter to manager.
On getting the information CO Chetganj along with finger print expert reached there. Following initial investigation by police she said that Amish had already stayed in this hotel several times in past. The record register of hotel contained photo copies of Aadhar card of both, in which their residential addresses of Deoria were mentioned while the girl had mentioned BHU as her local address.
Singh said that efforts are being made to confirm whether the girl was a BHU student. She said that the body was sent for postmortem and efforts are being made to search Amish.
