ALWAR: A woman whose husband had reported her missing on June 1 in Alwar’s Shajahanpur was found to be living with her lesbian partner in Haryana. The woman, Jyoti, had left her house in Alwar almost a month back following which her husband Gopal Singh had lodged a missing person report.
According to the statement recorded by Jyoti, she had been forced to marry Gopal and when he left for work on June 1, she called her partner Gunjan Bai. They eloped to Manesar where the police found them. Gunjan is also a national level sportsperson.
“On the husband’s complaint, we started looking for Jyoti and tracing her whereabouts through her mobile network, found her in Manesar. We brought both the women to Alwar and they revealed that they were in a relationship for last four years. Jyoti also claimed that her parents forced her to marry Gopal though she wanted to get married to Gunjan. She also claimed that her husband used to lock her in the house when he went to work in a factory in Shajahanpur.”

Both the women were produced in front of the magistrate where Jyoti refused to stay with her husband and wished to go back to her partner. Since they are adults, the lesbian couple was allowed to go free, said police officials.
