Senior agri officer meets neera farmers

Coimbatore: Agricultural production commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi on Wednesday met coconut farmers and neera farmers, and visited the tender coconut auction centre opened by the agriculture business development department at Thoppampatti here.
The official gathered feedback on neera extraction process, returns the farmers were getting and marketing issues. The state government, last year, had allowed three agriculture producers companiesAnamalai Coconut Farmers Producers Company, Vinayaka Farmers Producers Company and Coimbatore Coconut Farmers Producers Company to tap neera. tnn
