British weekend gas price down 4.3% to its lowest in two years OSLO: Britain's wholesale weekend gas price opened at 24.40 pence per therm on Wednesday, dropping to its lowest level in two years and joining a decline across all contract prices in the country.

High gas storage levels, robust piped imports that are expected to increase next week due to the end of maintenance at Norway's giant Troll gas field, and a decline in demand for gas-to-power generation were causing prices to decline on Wednesday.

Last time the weekend contract price was so low was in mid-June 2017, Refinitiv Eikon data showed.
