If you have invested in a fund that has created a side pocket, also known as a segregated portfolio, the fund company will inform you. Following the creation of a segregated portfolio, you will get two account statements. One will be of your main portfolio, which you can realize any time and the other will be about the money that has been side pocketed. It will state the amount of money, which is stuck and subject to resolution of the underlying debt.
