Works of Vietnamese artists to be displayed in Chennai

CHENNAI: An exhibition of 25 artworks by 15 Vietnamese and Indian artists will be held at ITC Grand Chola here from June 28 to 30. ITC Grand Chola has joined hands with Asian Art House to present the exhibition called “A Journey Through Art” and thereby to promote upcoming talent in art.
The featured artists include Laxman Aaley, Vijayraaj Bodhankar, Bhaskar Rao Botcha, Manoj Das, Gourishankar Soni, Sangeeta Babani, Madhavi Joshi, Ganesh Doddamani, Sanjay Tikkal, Rangoli Garg and Sujata Sah Sejekan, alongside striking works from Vietnam.

The exhibition will highlight the artistic learning, philosophy and processes of various art forms, bringing together the sensibilities and distinct imagery of the two countries.
“We started this series in Hyderabad in 2017 and wanted it to travel to different parts of the country. For Chennai’s show, we’ve put together an eclectic variety with bright colours of Vietnamese artwork and traditional Indian art,” says Rajat Mitra, co-founder Asian Art House. “We’ve also taken the budding artists we have featured in this series to art-related events and residencies across the country post these exhibitions,” he says.
