The Himachali diaspora has made a significant contribution in the development of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
“The people from the state have not only made a name for themselves in business world but also made an immense contributions in the fields like medicine and engineering,” he said while addressing members of Himachali Community here during his maiden visit to the UAE on Monday.
Thakur said the people of Himachal have succeeded in creating a special place for themselves throughout world as a result of their hard work and honest nature.
He appealed to the people of Himachal living in UAE to come forward and contribute towards development of their state as well.
Consulate General of India in Dubai Vipul welcomed the Chief Minister and highlighted the contributions of Himachali in development of Dubai.
The India Club, where this event was organised, was opened in 1964.
Industries Minister Bikram Singh, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr Shrikant Baldi, Additional Chief Secretary Industries Manoj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Tourism Ram Subhag Singh, Director Industries Hans Raj Sharma, Special Secretary Abid Hussain Sadiq, Principal Private Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Singh, representatives of CII, Himachal Pradesh were also present on the occasion, among others.
