RAJKOT: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was abducted by an unidentified woman from Lakhota take of Jamnagar on Sunday evening. Police said the girl, identified as Jiya Vinjhuvadia, daughter of Ghanshyam Vinjhuvadia, an autorickshaw driver, had gone missing since Sunday evening.
Jiya had gone to Lakhota lake to enjoy Sunday holiday with her parents when she got lost and went missing since then.

“After her mother Punam lodged a complaint with us, we launched an investigation and started scanning of footages of the nearby CCTV cameras. In one of footages, Jia was spotted being held by an unidentified woman who had covered her head. The woman also had another kid with her,” said S H Rathwa, inspector with Jamnagar A division police station.
“It has been 24 hours since Jiya was abducted, and since no call for ransom has been received. It doesn’t appear to be a usual case of abduction. The woman in the footage who looks like a beggar might have wanted to employ Jiya in begging. We are hoping to crack the case soon,” added Rathwa.
