Share market update: FMCG shares mixed; Emami jumps over 5%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Emami (up 5.13 per cent), Marico (up 0.68 per cent), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (up 0.54 per cent) and Godrej Industries (up 0.47 per cent) were trading higher.

United Breweries (down 0.79 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (down 0.62 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 0.58 per cent) and ColgatePalmolive (India) (down 0.48 per cent) were trading with losses.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.14 per cent down at 29,423.60 around 10:58 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 3.70 points at 11,695.95 while the BSE Sensex was down 17.24 points at 39,105.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Dish TV India, REC, PNB, Motherson Sumi, Tata Steel and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
