Following the video message released from IMA Group MD Mohammed Mansoor Khan on Sunday, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Zameer Ahmed Khan on Monday appealed to him to return and pay back the investors.

Addressing presspersons here, he said, “I have already previously urged Mansoor Khan through the media to first come back. I again appeal to him to come back and return the investors’ money.”

Referring to Mansoor’s allegations that several politicians are involved in the downfall of IMA, Mr. Khan said, “Let him give a list of politicians who are involved. We should know who are involved. Our government is pro-poor and there are over 50,000 poor people invested in IMA. Let him first give the list, come back and return the money to them.”

Referring to the names of the politicians, such as former Minister K. Rahman Khan and JD(S) MLC Saravana, mentioned by Mansoor in the video, the Minister said the Special Investigation Team’s investigation will reveal the truth.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rahman Khan has denied that he had any links with Mansoor Khan. “I do not know why my name is being dragged into this controversy. I have been opposing his company from the beginning. In the video he has thanked me sarcastically for opposing the company. So how am I involved?” he asked.

Mr. Saravana said he was shocked to be named. “The allegations are baseless. I have never spoken to him and have only seen his photo on television. As the president of the jewellers’ association, I learnt that a jewellery store of IMA was opened two years ago. But I did not know who the owner or directors were. I am ready to cooperate with the SIT in its investigation,” he said.
