And from Lord's

They are underway in the cricket, Aaron Finch and David Warner at the crease as England have the ball and will bowl first.

I will try to keep you updated throughout the day with the scores....

As ever

As always we are also running our Premier League blogs on Liverpool FC, Everton FC and Manchester United.

Give them a click to keep up to date with the latest happenings from Anfield, Goodison and Old Trafford.

Glamorgan updates

Glamorgan are in action on day three in Division Two of the County Championship in Bristol against Gloucestershire.

The home side were 313 all out in their first innings with Glamorgan closing on 187-4 at the end of day two, 126 runs shy and with six wickets in hand.

Lordy lordy

Not sure if that is blasphemous to a cricket fan....

Any way, just a quick nod towards those following the ICC Cricket World Cup.

There is of course the mini-Ashes clash today in Lord’s as England take on Australia.

New Zealand currently top the pile with five wins from six, with Australia in second and England in fourth, with the top four sides after a 10 team round robin group format going through to the semi-finals.

Today’s encounter could have a big bearing on the final four.

Even more local news

Another piece of late breaking news happened last night as Bangor City were given a stay of execution against their demotion from the Cymru Alliance.

The club had been handed a 42-point deduction by the authorities, which rather unsurprisingly would have seen them demoted down from the Welsh second tier.

However, after an appeal, City have instead had 21 points rather than the 42 taken off their tally, meaning they remain in the Cymru Alliance on goals difference.

Here my colleague Dan Bissett has had a closer look at the whole saga.

Off we go

Right the first piece of news, in case you missed it of course, is that Wrexham added a fourth new signing of the summer late last night.

Mark Harris, a 20-year-old Wales under-21 international has joined the Dragons on a season long loan from Cardiff City.

And it is a piece of business that has certainly got the fans excited.

Here is what Dragons boss Bryan Hughes had to say on the youngster.
