Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, will visit Jammu and Kashmir on June 26. This would be a two-day visit to the state. Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir was, earlier, scheduled to take place on June 30. Sources said that he will chair a high-level security meeting in Srinagar during his visit as well as address Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and Panchayat members. However, Amit Shah will not visit the Jammu or the Ladakh divisions of the state during his visit.
United States (US) Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, will meet Union External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, on June 26. This would be part of his three-day visit to India. Pompeo’s visit comes days before G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan. This is also his first visit to India after the US had removed India as one of the preferential trade partners.
The defamation case, filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, will be heard by the Rouse Avenue Court in New Delhi on June 26. Gupta had filed a defamation suit against the duo for allegedly "maligning" his image after they accused him of being part of an alleged "conspiracy" to kill the AAP chief. On May 21, Gupta had sent a legal notice to Kejriwal and Sisodia for allegedly attempting to "frame him" in an alleged assassination plot against the Chief Minister.
