North investigate forward over scuffle

North Melbourne are investigating an incident allegedly involving forward Taylor Garner at a Sydney pub over the weekend.

Garner is alleged to have been involved in a bar fight on Saturday night at The Golden Sheaf in Double Bay, in which it is claimed that a man's nose was broken.

North issued a short statement on Monday night.

"The North Melbourne Football Club is aware of an alleged incident involving Taylor Garner which occurred in Sydney on the weekend," the club said.

"The club is investigating the matter and will make no further comment at this stage."

Garner, 25, has played 38 games in seven years, including four this season. The first-round draft pick from 2012 has shown glimpses of brilliance but has repeatedly battled injury.

Management at The Golden Sheaf said they was also looking into the incident.

More to come.
