A 25-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and sent to judicial custody for sending death threats to Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on his personal phone number.
The police said that the accused, Vishwajeet alias Guddu, is from Samastipur in Bihar. He is staying in Delhi and works in a private company.
The police said that Vishwajeet confessed to sending a threatening SMS to Mr. Tiwari as he wanted to “become famous”.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Tiwari had informed the police about the threat.
A formal complaint was lodged at Bhajanpura police station. The accused was booked under CrPC section 107/151.
