Hyundai-owned automaker, Kia motors has officially revealed the Seltos SUV in India ahead of its official launch for the domestic market in August. This model first revealed in 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The name Seltos is inspired by Greek mythology and the legend of ‘Celtos’ the son of Hercules. Representing the brave and assertive spirit of Celtus, the ‘S’ in the car’s name implies speed, sportiness and strength, says the carmaker.

The Seltos give the full sized SUV look with LED headlamps, dynamic turn indicators, LED bar on roof, faux skid plate and etc,. The Seltos measures in at (LXBXH) 4.3-metersX1.8-metersX1.62-meters. The wheelbase standard at 2.61-meters. The Kia Seltos gets the lot of features like climate control, 10.25-inch display for the touchscreen system, Bose sound system, sound mood lighting, connected car technologies, six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, stability management programme, blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors, a surround view monitor and etc,. Inside, the Seltos gets a beige and brown setup with full feature loaded. 

Kia will be offering the Seltos with a pair of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines along with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. All of these engines will meet BS6 emission standards. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will have an output of around 115PS of power, while the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol will produce north of 140PS. The 1.5-litre engines get a six-speed manual as standard, while the petrol trim can be had with CVT option and the diesel gets a six-speed torque converter option. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine can only be had with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

When it comes to India Kia Seltos will go up primarily against the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 18 lakhs.
