CLAT 2019: All India topper Saumya wants to become a judge

Jaipur boy who toiled for two years, managing both his class XII board exams with CLAT preparation, finally got the fruit of his hard work as he emerged as the national topper in CLAT 2019 result by securing 177.25 out of 199.
Saumya Singh, 18, who studied from Delhi Public School (DPS), Udaipur scored 95.2% in his class XII exams with Humanities. He followed a hectic schedule where he used to juggle between school work and rushing to the coaching centre in Jaipur for CLAT preparation.
"Being a lawyer has always been my ambition as a child. Thus, I put all my strength in the preparation of CLAT," says Saumya while talking to Education Times.
"The biggest challenge for me was to manage boards and CLAT preparation simultaneously. I worked hard in class XI, which helped me in my preparation in class XII."
Saumya says that his parents who are both professors of Geography in Indraprastha University, and Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, respectively, has been highly motivating to him.
He expected to be in the top 10, but finding his name as the All India topper was quite overwhelming. Despite his hectic schedule, he finds time to read novels and play the guitar to de-stress. "Law is a very interesting subject since it has the power to cause social changes. Also, as a lawyer one gets to connect with the society; hence I chose Humanities in class XI to improve my knowledge and understanding of social sciences," says Saumya, who wants to become a judge.
