Surat: Three persons riding a motorcycle died after a speeding car rammed into their vehicle from the rear side near Haldharu village about 25k from Surat on Bardoli-Palsana Road late Sunday evening.
The deceased were identified as Mahesh Patil (20), Kishor Mahajan (25) and Ajay Patil (19). While Mahesh died on the spot after the collision, Ajay and Kishor succumbed to injuries at SMIMER hospital in Surat during treatment.
Police said that they have obtained the registration number of the car and are in search of the driver.
According to Kamrej police, on Sunday evening when the deceased trio was on their way to Haldharu, an car rammed into their bike at high speed.
Mahesh fell down and died on the spot whereas Kishor and Ajay were rushed to SMIMR hospital in unconscious state, but they to succumbed to injuries after short treatment.
Mahesh is son of power looms unit owner Suresh Patil who has factory at Navapur in Maharastra. Kishore is resident of Laxminagar, near Akhand Anand college in Surat, whereas Ajay lives in Siddhi Vijayak society in Bagumara village of Palsana taluka in Surat.
Police said that the car driver had left the car at the accident spot and fled.
