20-year-old man arrested for sexually harassing minor girl

SURAT: A 20-year-old man was arrested by police from Sachin GIDC limits for sexually harassing a seven-year-old girl living in neighbouring house here on Sunday. Police produced accused Ganesh Sahu in court which sent him to judicial custody.
The accused and the victim’s family belong to same village in Uttar Pradesh. The accused was given food by the girl’s mother in a bowl on Friday. The woman asked her daughter after a while to get the bowl back from Sahu, who is unmarried. When the minor girl went to Sahu’s room, he closed the door and sexually harassed her. When the girl didn’t return immediately, her family members reached Sahu’s room and rescued her.
“The minor girl has not suffered any injury. The accused has been booked for sexually harassing the girl. We have begun registering statements of family members and neighbours,” said a police officer.
