Large cumulonimbus clouds are expected to form due to rising temperatures coupled with low pressures. The clouds are dense, towering vertically forming from water vapour being carried by the powerful upward air currents.
The clouds may also be referred to as thunderheads if seen during a storm.
After dry and sunny weather experienced in much of Britain yesterday the storms will arrive tonight.
