The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday blamed the BJP government in the Centre for the “growing rate of serious crimes” in the city.
AAP leader Atishi said, “The Centre needs to tell the people of Delhi what steps are being taken on improving the city’s security and policing. The accountability of the BJP MPs, the L-G, the Home Ministry needs to be set.” She added that Delhiites, who are afraid to step out for security reasons are now concerned for their safety even inside homes. In the past 24 hours, nine murders have been reported, she said. “The women are afraid to step out after 8 p.m. Recent cases have made people insecure even inside their own homes. Today [Sunday] a couple in Vasant Kunj and their help were found dead inside their residence. In another incident, a man killed four of his own family members,” Ms. Atishi added.
