THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The
British Council has signed an MoU with the state government to provide football training for 288 physical education teachers in the state.
Six certified coaches from the
Premier League will conduct the training in
Kozhikode,
Malappuram and
Thrissur districts. The aim is to equip 288 physical education teachers from government schools with world-class skills in football coaching.
The training is expected to impact more than three lakh students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to become competent football players. "Through the programme, we also aim to encourage more participation from women, giving them an opportunity to build on their professional skills, team work, self-reliance, resilience and confidence, making them the drivers of gender inclusivity," said Janaka Pushpanathan, south director of British Council.
