Helmetless bikers fall off flyover in Kolkata, one dies

KOLKATA: Three youths without helmets on a scooter, fell off the Garden Reach flyover, 30 feet below on the road in Kidderpore on Sunday night killing the 17-year-old rider and severely injuring two other teenagers.
The incident happened around 9.30pm when the youths were allegedly speeding along the flyover dodging cops on a drive against helmet less bikers and rammed into the flyover’s crash barrier before being flung off the bridge near Paharpur Cooling Tower.

The trio were taken to SSKM Hospital with multiple injuries where Md Arsalan died around 7am on Monday and the two others, Asif Ali (17) and Md Imtiyaz (19) were shifted to private hospitals by their family members. Police said, their condition continued to be critical till late on Monday.
Witnesses said, the three were flung off the flyover and two of them fell on a container on a truck parked on the road below before rolling down on the road. Arslan however directly fell on the road, head first that left him with most injuries. All of them are residents of Barrabazar Lane.
