Three loan sharks beat up man; rob rickshaw, cash

RAJKOT: Three loan sharks and their aides beat up a man black and blue, who acted as a guarantor for the person who had taken a loan from them on Ranjeetsagar Road in Jamnagar on Sunday.
The accused also robbed autorickshaw, Rs 30,000 in cash and a mobile phone of the victim.
According to police, Jitu Kabad, Bhavesh Gujaria, Gopal Gujaria and their four unidentified associates attacked Ajay Thapalia (22) with bats and iron pipes.

Thapalia was a loan guarantor for Jayesh Luhana who had taken Rs 40,000 from Kabad. Luhana had already repaid Rs 25,000 to Kabad.
“However, after Luhana could not repay the remaining Rs 15,000, Kabad and other co-accused kidnapped Thapalia in his autorickshaw, took him first to Subhash Park area and then to Gordhanpar village where they beat him up. Then the accused robbed rickshaw, Rs 30,000 cash and a cellphone of Thapalia,” said a police official from Jamnagar A division police station.
