Allegedly used fake documents to secure job

An Assistant Director in the Fisheries Department was booked for allegedly securing the job using fake documents.

Based on a complaint by K.C. Rajanna, an RTI activist , the Vidhana Soudha police booked Muneyya, who was working in the Srinivaspur branch of the department. He has been charged with forgery and cheating .

In his complaint to the police, Rajanna alleged that Muneyya is a high school drop-out. His father-in-law worked in the Fisheries Department and died while on duty in 1990, said the police.

The accused allegedly made use of this opportunity to apply for a job in the department. “He forged documents to claim that he was the brother-in-law of the deceased and got the job on compassionate grounds,” the police added.

The accused also allegedly forged certificates of his educational qualification and, within a few years, he secured a promotion.

According to documents available and submitted to the police, the activist claims that Munnayya has completed only the 7th standard.

The Vidhana Soudha police have sought the details from the department as part of their investigation.
