Kaelis has specially developed for Icelandair the perfect set of cutlery and toothpick for meals onboard: they are biodegradable and their packaging too. Icelandair innovates once again. The airline is one of the first one to adopt eco-friendly cutlery before the European Legislation comes into place. This new set will start flying in the next couple of months.
Corn-starch products produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions than traditional plastics over their lifetime. There is no net increase in carbon dioxide when they break down, because the plants that they are made of also absorb the same amount of carbon dioxide as they grow. Additionally, corn starch products do not produce toxic fumes if incinerated.
