Woman held for killing husband with help of paramour

Pune: A woman has been arrested by Crime Branch of Pune city police for allegedly killing her husband in Hadapsar with help from her paramour. 

The accused woman has been identified as Sarita Prakash Vilayatkar (34) and her paramour Tarkesh Tanaji Randhir (25), both residents of Phursungi. The deceased has been identified as Prakash Shankarrao Vilayatkar. 

According to police, on Thursday, an unidentified body was found near canal road in Hadapsar. The postmortem report from Sassoon Hospital revealed that he was murdered. Accordingly, an FIR was registered against unidentified persons based on a complaint from Assistant Police Inspector Dilip Gade.

During the investigation, Assistant Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan found that the deceased was wearing a belt of a security guard, which helped in the identification. A further probe led the police to his wife Sarita. 

According to police, Sarita was allegedly having extramarital affair with Randhir. When her husband Prakash learnt about it, he started beating her often. She allegedly conspired with Tarkesh to kill her husband. Accordingly, Tarkesh and his friend attacked Prakash and murdered him. Police are yet to nab the other accused.  Senior Police Inspector Raghunath Jadhav, Inspector Shivaji Shinde supervised the investigation team, which included policemen Shashikant Nale and Akbar Shaikh and others.
