Udhagamandalam: With the tourist season coming to an end, the Salem division of the Southern Railway has suspended the ‘roundtrip joyride’ services between Ooty and Ketti on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway from Monday.
The joyride was introduced in June 2018 for a month, but only three days in a week. The 14km roundtrip was well received by tourists.
The service was again introduced during the summer season this year from April. The service was extended throughout the week. “As there is decline in tourist inflow, the service of the roundtrip joyride will stand suspended from Monday onwards,” said an official of the Salem division of the southern railway.TNN
