MSU teacher in WHO panel on road safety

Vadodara: Assistant professor of M S University’s Law of Faculty, Umang Modi, has become member of the legal development programme (LDP) on road safety of the World Heath Organisation (WHO). LDP’s main work is to frame road safety policies and recommended changes.
Across the country, eight individuals with legal background have been selected as members of LDP India for a duration of six months. “During our monthly meetings, we are supposed to discuss policy aspects related to road safety, prepare drafts and submit recommendations to state governments,” said Modi.

Modi, who was member of LDP even last year, had worked on preparing a white paper for Uttar Pradesh government. This time he will also provide training to students of the university to spread awareness on road safety aspects. “I also want to work closely on road safety measures that can be adopted for Vadodara city and submit recommendations to the state government,” he said.
Modi is also the coordinator for diploma in political leadership and governance of Institute of Leadership and Governance.
