RAJKOT:
In a bizarre incident, a TV that the occupants of a house had forgotten to switch off during the night,
exploded, resulting in fire that killed a
woman and her
10-month-old daughter in Anandpur village of Chotila taluka in Surendranagar district early Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Ranjan Vaghela (25) and her daughter Bansi, were
burnt to death in the house, said police.
“The TV might have exploded due to short circuit, however, we are not yet certain about the cause. We have sought the help of forensic experts to ascertain the exact cause of the blast,” said an official from Chotila police station.
The blast triggered a fire that engulfed the entire house. Only Vaghela and her daughter were inside the house. Her husband Ashok was in Babara town of Amreli district, while her three-year-old son was sleeping with his grandfather in their farm.
