Scared of mother’s scolding, 3 kids flee to stepmom’s home

Vadodara: The Jawaharnagar police spent a tense 24 hours when it got a complaint of three missing children late on the night of June 21. The police teams swung into action and began looking for the children who were finally found from a village in Waghodia taluka on June 22. The police said that the kids had fled from their home and gone to their step-mother who stays in Gugliyapura village.
According to the police, the complainant approached them and said that her three kids aged 15-year-old girl, 12-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl had gone missing from her home in Koyli village on June 20. These kids had gone to a temple but didn’t return till late following which the mother got tensed. The cops investigated the case from several angles including kidnapping. They also had suspicion on the complainant as they were blood stains on her dupatta.

“We questioned neighbours and tried to collect details of the children’s daily movements. We also scanned the CCTV footages of the bus depot, railway station and the road they took,” the police said. During investigations, they learnt that the complainant was earlier married to a man in Gugliyapura village. He had later married another woman.
The cops visited the man’s home and found the kids there. The children told the police that their mother used to scold them a lot and also beat them in anger. “So they fled their home and came to Gugliyapura to stay with their stepmother. The children were handed over to their mother,” police officials said.
