Man accused of raping class X girl arrested

Vadodara: Manjalpur police on Sunday formally arrested 19-year-old Tausif Imran Khan who has been booked raping a class X girl and recording videos of the act in his mobile phone.
While Khan has been accused of rape, molestation, criminal intimidation among many other charges denied sexual exploitation of the girl.
Interestingly, in her statement the girl also told police that Khan never raped her.
According to police sources, Khan admitted that he used to take the girl to Lalbaug garden and to Hazira tomb on Pratapnagar Road, but never touched her inappropriately or raped her.
“The accused said that he never intended to sexually harass or exploit the girl and even if he did, it was not possible as the garden as well as at the heritage site always remained crowded,” said a police official.
He added that the girl, too, denied of any form of sexual exploitation of her.
Cops, however, conducted medical tests on the duo on Sunday and have sent their viscera samples to FSL.
Khan’s mobile phone too has been sent for forensic tests.
Police said that they did not find any obscene video in the accused’s phone. “There were selfies of the girl and Khan, but we are not ruling out the possibility that he may have deleted the videos. So, we have sent the phone to FSL so that the deleted videos can be retrieved,” the police official said.
The girl’s mother had lodged an FIR against Khan after the girl and Khan were found roaming around after school hours. It was alleged that Khan took her to public parks and raped her.
