The visits were made to 119 hotels, inns and other enterprises in the accommodation sector in the municipality, which has the National Shrine of Aparecida as the main attraction and receives around 12 million visitors per year.

“Our objective is to sensitize the tourism trade as a whole on the planning, formalization and legalization of tourism service providers through the registration of companies and professionals in the sector. It is important to reinforce that MTur tourism inspectors have a primary educational role and that we want to make tourism service providers aware of the importance of regularizing in the Cadastur,” explains Tamara Galvão, coordinator general of Regulation and Supervision of the Ministry of Tourism.

Despite being an important tourist destination in the state of São Paulo and the country, only 47 lodging facilities in the city of Aparecida, in the Paraíba Valley, are regularized in the Cadastur.

The inspection action was preceded by a meeting with hoteliers, managers and other providers of local tourist services to explain the importance of formalization for the provision of quality services, as well as the benefits of Cadastur for the municipalities that make up the Brazilian Tourism Map.

The Cadastur database, in addition to the numerous benefits for the sector, is an important source of consultation for the Brazilian tourist market. The system of registration of individuals and legal entities operating in the tourism sector is carried out by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the official tourist agencies in the 27 Units of the Federation and allows the tourist to find providers of tourist services registered throughout the country.
