Four in net for robbing courier firm employee

PUNE: The crime branch on Thursday arrested two more suspects involved in robbing a scooter-borne courier company employee of his bag containing Rs 5 lakh on Shankarsheth Road on Monday evening.
Inpector Anjum Bangwan said they had recovered Rs 4.19 lakh and a car from the two suspects, Sham Shinde (31) of Aranyeshwar and Akash Jadhav (24) of Yerawada. Two of their accomplices, Deepak Gaikwad (34) of Pimpri and Balaji Masure (33) of Thergaon, had already been arrested by the crime branch. A couple of others are still on the run.
The complainant in the case, Prakashkumar Kadiya (35), has been working with a courier company for the past eight years. His job is to collect cash from clients and deposit it in the office, daily.

The suspects, travelling in a car, intercepted Kadiya on Shankarsheth Road around 4pm on Monday when he was heading towards Swargate after collecting Rs 5 lakh from a businessman in Market Yard. They robbed him after threatening to kill him.
An officer said the first two suspects were immediately taken into custody, while the others were on the run. Constable, Sunil Pawar, attached to the crime branch (unit-IV), received a tip that the suspect, Shinde, who is also a registered criminal according police records, was in Lonavla and was about to flee the district. The crime branch team led by sub-inspector Nilesh Mahadik, constables Sachin Dhavale, Vishal Shirke and Shankar Patil rushed to Lonavla and took Shinde into custody. "During the questioning, Shinde revealed that another suspect, Jadhav, was in Vishrantwadi," said inspector Bangwan. He added, "Our team rushed to Vishrantwadi and arrested Jadhav too."
