CHENNAI: Ending the paper-pen based test for recruiting teachers, the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) in
Tamil Nadu will conduct the first-ever
computer-based test to recruit teachers on Sunday (June 23). Based on the test, 814 computer instructors for government schools will be recruited.
More than 30,000 candidates will take the test in 119 centres across the state from 10am to 1pm. The NSEIT, a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited, will conduct the test.
“The board has appointed monitoring officers for each test centres. District education officers, school headmasters and computer technicians are part of the monitoring team. The agency also put several security measures in place for the smooth conduct of the exam,” sources from school education department said.
As soon as the students finish the tests, their answers would be sent to the main server and saved. “After the test time, no one can access the answers,” sources added.
The board has informed the candidates to carry a voter id, passport, pan card, driving licence and Aadhaar card along with the hall ticket to the examination hall for identification. According to officials the TNTET was the last pen-paper based recruitment test. The employees of a private firm entrusted to supply, scan and process the OMR answer scripts by TRB the had manipulated the results leading to major scams in polytechnic lecturers’ recruitment test and teacher eligibility test conducted in 2017.
To rule out manipulations, the board is going for computer-based test. It also announced that the recruitment of 2,144 PG teachers will be conducted on a computer-based online test
