Ludhiana: The civic officials visited various areas in the city on Thursday asking people to clear their
water supply and sewerage dues which have been pending since a long time.
The officials from zone C visited nine properties out of which water supply and sewerage connections of five were disconnected. The MC recovered Rs 2.17 lakh from the rest of the four defaulters. Similarly, in zone D, the civic officials went to a commercial property at Mall Road for recovery of dues. The officials threatened to snap the connection, but the owner assured to clear the dues by Friday.
The MC superintending engineer of operation and maintenance cell Rajinder Singh said, “We have started recovery drive in various areas of the city and in the coming days more defaulters will land in the net.” He requested the public to clear their dues on their own, else strict action will be taken against them.
Notably, the MC commissioner KP Brar and mayor Balkar Sandhu had asked the officials to recover the dues at any cost at the earliest, else face action.
