Pune: Recently, an RTI activist wrote to Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) for not re-appointing three Public Information Officers and not updating the information board. A Pune Cantonment Board official said that former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DN Yadav might have overlooked the issue but it will be soon considered.

RTI activist Sanjay Kawade claimed that some of the posts of Public Information Officer are vacant for three to four months now. Also the information board on the ground floor of the PCB office has not been updated.

“Recently I wrote to the PCB CEO stating that there is no information about to whom the applicant should appeal or ask for information if the CEO does not answer or help the applicant. Around eight Public Information Officers of PCB retired seven to eight months back. Five of them were re-appointed while the rest have not been re-appointed. The information board at the Pune Cantonment Board office has not been updated either,” Kawade added.

PCB Vice President Vivek Yadav said, “The recently appointed CEO, Amit Kumar is on leave for some days. I will put the issue in front of him and soon the issue will be solved.”
