32 suburban trains won’t run between Tambaram and Chengalpet on June 23

CHENNAI: Seven passenger trains will be cancelled and 32 suburban trains running between Chennai Beach and Chengalpet will be partially cancelled on June 23 due to line and power blocks to facilitate construction of a bridge in the Guduvanchery-Vandalur stretch and a limited use subway in the Ottivakkam – Chengalpet stretch.
Cancelled trains:
Chennai Egmore – Puducherry passenger leaving Chennai Egmore at 6.35am, Chennai Beach – Melmaruvathur MEMU train leaving Chennai Beach at 8.25am, Melmaruvathur – Villupuram MEMU leaving Melmaruvathur at 11.30am, Villupuram – Melmaruvathur MEMU leaving Villupuram at 1.55pm, Melmaruvathur – Chennai Beach MEMU leaving Melmaruvathur at 3.30pm, Villupuram–Tambaram passenger leaving Villupuram at 5.20am and Tambaram–Villupuram passenger leaving Tambaram at 6.10pm.
Partially cancelled suburban trains
Fifteen suburban trains from Chennai Beach to Chengalpet leaving from 3.55am to 1.45pm and three EMUs from Chennai Beach to Tirumalpur leaving at 6.30am, 7.05am, 1.30pm will run only up to Tambaram.
Seventeen EMUs from Chengalpet to Chennai Beach leaving from 3.55am to 1.50pm will run from Tambaram to Chennai Beach only. In addition to this, two circular EMUs from Arakkonam to Chennai Beach leaving at 4.45am and 7.30am, and two circular EMUs from Tirumalpur to Chennai Beach leaving Tirumalpur at 7.05am and 10.45am will run only up to Tambaram.
Special trains
To avoid inconvenience for commuters, Southern Railway will operate passenger special trains between Chengalpet and Tirumalpur.

Two passenger specials will leave from Chengalpet to Tirumalpur at 8.50am and 3.20pm. A passenger special from Chengalpet to Arakkonam will leave at 11.13am while another passenger special from Kancheepuram to Chennai Beach will leave at 1.30pm.
In the return direction, there will be two specials from Tirumalpur to Chengalpet at 7.05am, and 10.25am, and two passenger specials from Arakkonam to Chengalpet at 4.45am and 8am on the same day.
